Stuck or hanging issues are some of the worst problems in Jio phones. While most of us use smartphones for various applications, we often buy a simple, basic phone for our parents who may not be familiar with using a smartphone. Or this basic small phone may be our one for business-related calling. But what should you do when the phone hangs during use?
Today, I’ll share the effective methods you can use to overcome this issue.
The common cases of your Jio basic phone getting stuck are
- You are turning On the phone but are stuck at the logo
- Stick at one icon while you change between the icons
- At the time of ringing a call
- When incoming calls coming, etc.
This type of issue is most commonly seen in both Jio phone 1 and Jio phone 2. I know it’s very frustrating the phone is in dead mode when we make an urgent call. Rather than trying the following troubleshooting tips, I would recommend you do some simple tips to avoid it in the future.
How to fix the Jio phone stuck issue?
Some small issues would be common in any device, but if you feel it worsens more, try the following troubleshooting tips.
Delete unwanted junk files
If your device has more unwanted files like images, voice clips, etc, deleting all of them will space up on your device and will help you to fix the hanging issue. Jio phones 1 and 2 only have less internal memory space for keeping small files, but making the entire storage space full could hurt the performance.
This is the main reason. Rather than hanging issues, you may also experience slow response issues, lagging, etc. From the phone storage gallery, you can simply delete unwanted images, voice clips, etc. Remove all the image duplications and keep only one in your phone gallery. You may also have the files that are automatically downloaded from the internet while surfing. Remove all of them.
After deleting, restart your phone, it will give freshness to your device and will improve the overall performance. Follow the next step if and only if this does not fix the issue.
Delete Cache
I always try to fix the issue in a minimal method and avoid deleting the wanted files from your mobile. Deleting the cache helps you to remove the junk files generated while using any application on the Jio phone. This method won’t delete the files from your mobile but just delete the temporary junk files.
If this doesn’t work, you need to reset the phone.
Anyway, let’s see how to delete the cache files and free up the internal memory.
Press and hold the volume up and the call cut button simultaneously to receive the options. Then select the Clear cache option to clear all the device cache files.
in the alternative method, go to the settings section and navigate to the memory settings. Then delete the cache files from these.
Restart your phone and see whether the hanging issue is fixed or not.
Uninstall unwanted applications
Installed apps take memory space from your phone storage. So, to free up the space, uninstall unnecessary applications from your mobile phone. Pre-installed apps can’t be removed, but the installed apps and games can be removed.
Let’s see how to remove and fix the lagging issue.
Go to the Jio store icon on your phone. You’ll see a list of installed applications. Select all the unwanted apps from there and select the menu button. Select the Delete option and press the OK button to delete them.
Reboot/Hard reset the Jio phone
As you know reboot or factory reset, some people also called hard resetting, it will delete all the saved files from your mobile. Additionally, you’ll lose the contact details, messages, etc.
So, before proceeding with this fixing method, copy all of the contacts from your phone to the SIM card. Additionally, check your message inbox whether you have received any important messages from authorities like banks, electricity offices, other financial institutions, schools of your kids, etc.
so, how to reboot the Jio phone?
Ka iOS is the operating system on your Jio mobile. Its resetting is quite simple.
- Turn on your mobile by long pressing the switch off or call cut button.
- Then press the volume up and the call cut button at the same time until the screen goes white color
- Now, you’ll get the restore mode, and see several different options
- Using the navigation key, select the ‘Wipe data and factory reset‘ option and select the OK button
- Your phone will undergo factory reset mode. Wait until the reset process is completed.
- Once the process is complete, you need to reboot or restart your phone
- Your phone becomes the state at the time you bought
The reset is completed and the hanging issue will be solved.
Update software
If you can, simply update the phone software. Kaios is the operating system installed and it needs to be updated if you need to improve the overall performance. Visit the nearest Jio store or service center to update the software. They’ll help you to update to the latest version and all the temporary glitches will vanish from the handset.
Like the rest, updating the phone software, we called the firmware will also vanish the files. So, check the points that I mentioned before giving it to the Jio service shop.
Bonus Tips
Try to switch off the phone for at least 10 minutes a day. The best time is when you are not actively using it or when you sleep.
keep the battery charge sufficient all the time.
Keep the phone away from the dust and the water. It may hurt your phone.
Rather than deleting the unwanted text message in bulk, when a message comes to your phone and you open it, if you feel the message is spam or no longer related to you, simply delete it immediately.
Final notes
Hope I have shared all the points that you can try yourself in fixing the hanging, lagging, slow response issue with the Jio phone models 1 and 2. The settings and the user interfaces are the same in both models so that you won’t get confused when trying the fixes I shared here.
From the given tips, the resetting option can be used while your phone locked. But before attempting this, enter the PUK code so that you can avoid the restoration.
