How To Get 10th/12th Equivalency Certificate In Kerala?

The equivalency certificate (In Malayalam it is thulyatha), is the certificate of recognition from the Kerala Board of Public Examinations for the 10th and 12th for the students or employees. Suppose any student completed their secondary or higher secondary level of examinations in another state and would love to apply for a job or higher studies. In that case, those certificates from other states need to be approved in Kerala.

If you have completed your secondary school education in states like Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and many more north Indian states, you need to get an equivalency certificate from the examination board in Kerala.

We have to apply directly to the SCERT to get an equivalency and some rules should follow. I’ll explain all that here in this article.

Why do you need an equivalency certificate?

It is reported that many people make fake certificates from other states ‘ boards to do higher studies, for e-employment, and various jobs in Kerala. So, the Kerala government decides to make criteria to get equivalency from the SCERT aka Kerala Board of Examinations. While doing this, they will cross-check the validity and existence of the submitted certificate of a candidate whether it is original or fakely created for any purposes.

SCERT has strict rules these days and they verify the genuineness of the certificate and will take a genuine test by considering the register number on the other board’s submitted certificates. Once they find all the details are correct regarding the name on the certificate, school details, and other details such as caste, date of birth, etc, they will grant an equality certificate. The government declared that by considering the genuineness, they can prevent fraud in the education system in Kerala.
