How is KSRTC bus tourism working?
All over Kerala, the KSRTC depots are distributed, and the recommended number of buses are there in each depot. As bus tourism started, some buses were allocated for the project. At this time, KSRTC only allows ordinary buses for sightseeing. Because of using the ordinary bus, they can only charge a lesser amount per head, but the buses are in good condition.
SWIFT is another bus that is used for long journeys in KSRTC with minimal good condition and with the same features as the tourist. But this type of bus is not available at present.
New initiatives
In the next phase of bus tourism, KSRTC aims to provide new buses exclusively to use for this type of tourism. Additionally, they are planning to launch an e-bus to further narrow down the expenses for the trip and even more available to below-middle-class families.

Nelliyampathy
This trip starts from the Palakkad depot. The timing is at 7 AM for the price of 480 INR per head. Experience the mini Ooty at this affordable price and on the way you can see the amazing Pothundi dam, a nice viewing experience. Additionally enjoy horse riding, paragliding, etc.
Malakkappara
The best destination in Thrissur. Located in between the Athirappilly waterfall and the Valparai in Tamil Nadu. The starting location may be from Palakkad and Thrissur. The cost is around 830 INR per head.
Nefertiti DLX luxury boating
If you want to enjoy luxury boating at an affordable rate, KSRTC’s Nefertiti DLX luxury boating is the most suitable package. With just 3930 INR enjoy one day of luxury boating, and this price is included with the entry fee for the boat.

Aaranmula
It is a 2-day trip and starts at 10 PM. For the bus fare and the Sadhya (food from the boat), they charge 1999 INR. Since it is a 2-day trip, you need to carry associated belongings when you come for the trip. Enjoy an exceptional outing at Aaranmula with delicious food from the boat.
Silent valley trip
This trip starts from the Palakkad depot. This package includes both food and the bus fare. For 1299 INR you can explore the Silent Valley National Park, food, etc. Trips usually start at 6 AM.
Munnar
Get an exciting trip to Munnar from all the major depots in Kerala. Usually, it may be 2 day trip and the cost is just 1250 INR per head. This is the price from the Palakkad depot. If you get the journey from another depot, there may be variations in the fare.
To explore other destinations at Munnar like Eravikulam National Park, etc, you need to pay for the entry fee and go through the department vehicle.
