I haven’t idea the procedures of other networks such as Airtel, Vi, etc, but because I was an Ex-employee at Jio, I know the exact step-by-step procedures to apply for the Jio tower installation at your land.

Is Your Land Eligible for a Jio Tower? Check These Criteria

The building terrace should have 500 square meters of space but there should not be other beside buildings that have more than the height of your building
If you have a plot in an urban area it should have 2000 square meters of space, but it should be 2500 square meters when the location is in a rural area.
NOC (No objection certificate) from your neighbors
There should not be another Jio tower around 1000 meters from your location
Your land, plot, or building should not have any issue with Government institutions like Taluk, Village office, Panchayath office, corporation office, etc. So, you should submit NOC from local body institutions.
Easy access to Electricity is a must.
Your area should not be a weak geographical area.

Need to sign an agreement with the Jio

Sign in with Jio network partner – Online application platform

You have to apply online through their official website. The website address is mentioned below.

You have to select from two different options like

I have a land/Plot
I have a building

Choose any one of the options that fit your property and click the Proceed button. Then you’ll be redirected to a page where you must enter the PIN code.

You can either enter the PIN code or locate your location with the help of Google Maps given in the right portion of the page.

After proceeding to the page, you need to give the mobile number on the next page and click the ‘Generate OTP‘ button. Wait until you get One Time Password.

On the next page, you have to submit the basic details about yourself and your property.

Fill out the form with your postal address, and land details, and then submit your application online.

Recheck all the information provided in the application form window. When entering the land details, you have to give the proper category the land belongs to such as residential, commercial, agricultural, or industrial.

Then you have to provide clear information about the route to the property.

If there is a Government road to the property, it will get approval easily. If the route to the property is through another person’s property, you have to denote it Via the application form. There should be a check box to denote this information.

Once you submit all the details click apply button to send it to them. You’ll get a successful message window.

Expect contact from Jio executives

Your application will go through a panel and they will go through various details of your application and their requirement if the new Jio tower is needed at the location you denoted on the form. You’ll get a reply from the team within 4 weeks after applying.

If you are eligible or not, you’ll get a reply message from them. So need not worry about the application status. Just wait 4 weeks to get a reply from them. In some cases, it may not take so much time.

Schedule a visit

If your application has been approved, the next step is the property visit. They will schedule a visit to your property at that time you need to show them all the government-issued details in front of them. This is an important step.

It is not sure that your land has been selected for installing the tower, even if you have received an approval message. They still need to visit the land and analyze some additional factors to ensure all conditions are met.

Why am I told this is a very important step? This visit will determine whether your land or property is eligible to get the Jio Tower installed and get a decent passive income without doing anything.

Final approval

They will let you know when the property visit is completed and check whether all the conditions are met. You get informed by the officials and the official agreement will be sent to your E-mail address from the state Jio corporate office.

Installation of the Jio tower will be taken care of by the company itself. You have to give them access to the plot or land. Building and installing the tower will be completed within months and it will completely depend on the progress of the work. Rent will be transferred to your bank account every month.

Apply for Jio Tower approval through licensed vendors

Some so many licensed vendors got tenders to build mobile towers by the telecom department. This way, you can not only Jio but also other service providers tower can install. These third-party vendors are licensed companies that take care of the mobile tower installation so that the telecom companies can take care of their business.

Contact any one of the nearby contractors and let them know about your land or property.

NB:- The companies may have separate rules and regulations for inviting applications, application procedures, property visits, etc. Read their policy details before signing the agreement.

How much will I get in rent by giving my property for mobile tower installation?

I know you are curious to know how much can you earn in this way. Finally, I am revealing the truth, you can earn between 15,000 INR to 30, 000 INR based on some rules are regulations such as the location. You can expect as low as 15,000 INR which is a good amount, but companies will pay you more than that for sure.

In some cases, like the tower sharing option, if another mobile company is planning to share the tower with Jio, you’ll get a small amount from them too.

One of my friend’s properties was given to a mobile network company and now he’s earning is 25,000 INR per month and the location is in an urban area.

Are there any health issues due to signal rays?

Need not worry about that. Mobile signals are radio waves which are a type of electromagnetic rays and it does not cause any health-related issues even if the tower is 3G, 4G, or 5G.

How’ll you be paid?

Your bank account details will be given to the service provider. In each month they will credit the rent to your bank account. Since Jio is a reputed and billion-dollar company, you’ll get rent without any delay. Double-check the bank details before giving it to them.

Payment date may be 1 – 5 dates of every month. This is a direct bank transfer, you need not wait days to receive the amount.
